Dr. Lisa Knott has been caring for pets and their families for over 20 years, and she still takes that responsibility personally every single day. As the founder and owner of Cornerstone Veterinary Hospital, she has built her practice around one simple idea: people should feel heard, supported, and confident in the care their pet is receiving.

Dr. Knott grew up in the Capital District and graduated from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School. Her interest in veterinary medicine started early, working in a local animal hospital as a teenager. She went on to earn her degree in Animal Science from Cornell University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

She is Fear Free Certified and USDA Accredited, with a strong focus on keeping pets comfortable and minimizing stress during visits. She especially enjoys surgery and dentistry, where she can make a clear, lasting difference in a pet’s quality of life.

Outside of work, Dr. Knott spends most of her time with her family, including her husband, Dr. Alan Knott, and their two children. At home, she has two small dogs, Brutus and Layla, who bring plenty of personality to the household. When she gets a break, she enjoys being at her kids’ sporting events, working in her garden, and spending time on Cape Cod.

Dr. Knott is known for being thoughtful, steady, and thorough. She takes the time to explain things clearly, answer questions, and make sure you feel comfortable with every decision. To her, this is not just medicine. It is taking care of a member of your family.
