As the founder and owner of Cornerstone Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Alan Knott has helped shape the practice with a focus on practical, dependable care and a strong commitment to the people and pets it serves. His approach to veterinary medicine is grounded in real-world experience and a lifelong connection to animals.

He grew up on a farm in Northwest Ohio, where caring for animals was part of everyday life and laid the foundation for his career. He went on to earn both his undergraduate degree in Agriculture and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. Early in his career, Dr. Knott worked in large animal and mixed animal medicine, treating everything from livestock to family pets. That experience still shapes how he practices today, with a focus on practical solutions and doing what truly makes sense for the patient.

Dr. Knott is Fear Free Certified and USDA Accredited. While he remains closely connected to patient care, much of his time is spent supporting the team and making sure the hospital runs in a way that allows doctors and staff to provide consistent, high-quality care.

Outside of work, Dr. Knott enjoys running and has completed several marathons and half marathons. He is also a dedicated fan of Ohio State football and can often be found watching their games whenever they are on. He also enjoys golfing and spending time with his family, including his wife, Dr. Lisa Knott, their two children, and their two dogs, Brutus and Layla.

Dr. Knott is known for his steady, no-nonsense approach and his ability to look at the bigger picture. His goal is simple: to make sure every patient receives thoughtful, reliable care that their family can trust.
