How Cat & Dog Laser Therapy Works
Laser therapy has been in use for many years to treat humans and animals alike. Light particles are transmitted through a hand-held device to penetrate your pet’s soft tissues and heal the affected area by boosting the cells’ ability to metabolize energy and repair damaged cells. The entire process is noninvasive, painless, and drug-free. In fact, the laser light gives off a gentle warmth that your pet may find relaxing. We’re happy to make laser therapy sessions enjoyable for our patients.
What to Expect for Your Pet's Laser Therapy Session
All pets are different, and the success of their treatment depends on how well they respond. Some pets may need to undergo multiple laser therapy sessions before we see significant results, and others may show improvement after just one session. Most sessions last 10-30 minutes, and are performed in one of our exam rooms. Everyone present, including your pet, must wear protective goggles as a safety precaution.
Your veterinarian would be more than happy to discuss laser therapy with you in further detail, and help you determine whether this treatment will improve your pet’s quality of life. Give us a call at (518) 383-6254 for more information!
